Golden Gate Chapter: Tiffany Blue with Lauren Abramowitz, GIA GG

Lauren Abramowitz, GIA GG and jewelry expert, will give a history of Tiffany & Co. and describe the quality, packaging and markings that help one identify true Tiffany merchandise. She will also discuss items to look out for, including large liquidations of personal collections that may have issues. Abramowitz will bring examples of forgeries, original Tiffany packaging and authentic pieces for you to inspect.
Abramowitz was hired by Tiffany in 1998 to open the Scottsdale, Arizona location and grew with the company to become the assistant store manager of the newly opened Tucson location in 2006. While working for Tiffany, she was an award-winning employee and studied gemology at GIA, earning her GG in 2008. She also holds degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology, the State University of New York at Albany and a Master’s of Science from Long Island University. Abramowitz has volunteered as a member of the Women’s Financial Group Advisory Council and with the Phoenix Zoo Auxiliary. She maintains her membership in the GIA and FIT Alumni Associations and is a member of the International Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
