GIA Jewellery Career Fair Returns to London on April 5
Annual event offers job seekers in Europe unique opportunities
LONDON – March 5, 2019 – The second annual GIA London Jewellery Career Fair has something for everyone, whether looking to move into the international gem and jewellery industry, or to move ahead in a career already underway. Join GIA on April 5, 11:30 am to 4:15 pm, at the Goldsmiths' Hall, Foster Lane, London EC2V 6BN, for a unique opportunity to meet industry recruiters from all over Europe, receive one-on-one career coaching and hear from a panel of experienced professionals. The event is free and open to the public; anyone interested in attending is encouraged to register before the event at GIA.edu/career-fair-registration-form.
The opening panel will ignite a conversation about “Job Success in Today’s Market.” Moderated by GIA President and CEO Susan M. Jacques, the panellists will share their personal stories and advice about the industry. Attendees will hear from Peter Buckie, director of Jem Services; Harriet Kelsall, founder and chair of Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery; Fei Liu, director of Fei Liu Jewellery; and Faris Saif, associate at Sotheby’s.
“The GIA Jewellery Career Fair is back in London for a second year, and is even bigger,” said Mehdi Saadian, director of GIA’s London school and opening speaker of the event. “With multiple recruiters, 15 coaches and four panellist the event offers something for everyone seeking to enter or advance in this truly wonderful industry.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to create lasting impressions with recruiters from brands such as BVLGARI (UK) Limited, Hubert Gems, Harding Retail, Hatton Jewels and more. Positions are available in all aspects of the industry, including jewellery design, retail sales, watchmaking, buying and teaching, as well as management-level positions. In addition, job seekers can meet with experienced professionals acting as career coaches who most closely match their area of expertise.

GIA hosted its first Jewellery Career Fair in 1991 in Santa Monica, California, U.S. Since then, the event has expanded, linking gem and jewellery companies with future employees at more than 68 events in California, India, Las Vegas, London and New York.
