 CARLSBAD, Calif. – Oct. 2, 2023 – GIA (Gemological Institute of America), a pioneer in gemological research, education, and laboratory services, is set to host Career Fair Powered by GIA on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Institute’s World Headquarters in Carlsbad, California. Attendees can anticipate an enriching experience filled with career guidance, inspiring conversation, and invaluable networking opportunities with leading industry recruiters. 

“This event offers a dynamic space to explore opportunities that align with your passion and expertise and discover what makes a career in this industry so fulfilling. The connections forged with career coaches, recruiters, industry leaders, and fellow attendees can be transformative for career advancement,” said Susan Jacques, GIA president and CEO. 

Keynote speaker Jordan Harbinger, a Wall Street lawyer turned acclaimed talk show host, brings a distinctive perspective to the event. Known for his successful podcast, The Jordan Harbinger Show, he deconstructs the strategies of highly successful individuals to learn practical insights. In addition to the captivating keynote, attendees can gain deeper insights into the jewelry industry and market trends through the engaging "State of The Industry" panel discussion featuring esteemed industry experts: 

• Johanna Levy – Vice President of Environmental, Social and Governance Programs, GIA 

• Marty Hurwitz – CEO and Founder, THE MVEye 

• Angela Hope – Vice President of Merchandise, Ben Bridge Jeweler

Career Fair – Powered by GIA, will also be held in New York and London in 2024. GIA hosted its first Career Fair in 1991 in Santa Monica, California, U.S. Since then, the event has expanded, linking gem and jewelry companies with future employees at more than 68 events in California, India, Las Vegas, London and New York.
