Broad Career Possibilities Available at GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair
More than 50 companies, 25 career coaches and industry experts on hand
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Feb. 25, 2019 – The GIA Jewelry Career Fair, March 8 at the Javits Center in New York, offers an abundance of career opportunities in the global gem and jewelry industry. More than 50 companies will be recruiting for positions in all areas of the industry from staff gemologists to jewelry designers to buyers and more, as well as many management-level positions with well-known brands. Job seekers will also be able to connect one-on-one with professionals for career advice and hear from industry veterans and newcomers during the opening panel, “Job Success in Today’s Market.”
The event kicks off with a panel moderated by GIA President and CEO Susan Jacques featuring leading executives and a recent GIA graduate. Lisa Bridge, president and CEO of Ben Bridge Jeweler; Caryl Capeci, president of Hearts On Fire; Timothy B. Matthews, president and CEO of Jewelry Television; Lisa Nikfarjam, president of Lisa Nik Inc.; and Daniel Wisner, assistant technical designer at Alexis Bittar will share their thoughts and experience on what is needed to succeed in today’s market.
“For more than 25 years, GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair has provided a unique opportunity for job seekers to meet face-to-face with influential companies and experienced industry leaders who can greatly impact their careers,” said Kathryn Kimmel, GIA executive vice president and chief marketing officer and one of the founders of the GIA Jewelry Career Fair.
Career Fair attendees can connect with recruiters from companies such as David Yurman, London Jewelers, Tiffany & Co., The Rapaport Group, The Real Real, Oscar Heyman, Richline Group and many more. In addition, attendees can learn how to advance their careers by meeting with one of the 25 career coaches who cover 13 different areas of the industry.
This year’s GIA Jewelry Career Fair coincides with the JA New York Spring Show.
