Why would an inscription be bleached?
The dark pigment of a diamond’s inscription come from carbon, which arises when the laser contacts the stone during the inscription process. When a diamond is later cleaned or mounted, the carbon can be become less visible, resulting in a frosted inscription that may be too light to be read.
