Does GIA unmount and remount stones?
GIA does not unmount and remount stones. However, Colored Diamond Identification and Origin Report service and most identification services for colored stones and pearls can be performed on mounted items.
If the stone you would like to submit is mounted and the service requires a loose stone, you’ll need to take the item to a local jeweler.
