Stellate Cloud in Diamond

This patchy cloud with an uneven distribution of pinpoints observed in a natural diamond appears to depict a celestial star. The image was captured in monochrome. Photomicrograph by Tejas Jhaveri; field of view 2.9 mm.
Impurity clouds in diamonds occur in a variety of forms such as scattered, planar, or patchy clouds. The author recently observed one such cloud with an unusual morphology in a 1.51 ct natural diamond with E color and SI2 clarity (see above). This remarkable cluster of pinpoints took the form of a four-point star. This celestial inclusion is sure to be seen as a lucky charm.
