Wedding rings have been a symbol of relationship commitments throughout history – from ancient cultures to modern times. Rings signify the hope and expectation of everlasting love. Stylistically, through the ages, the designs have mirrored changing times and techniques. Join Diana Singer, an antique and period jewelry specialist, on a walk down this path as we look at ancient and modern wedding rings.
Singer is the president of D & E Singer, buyers and sellers of fine vintage and estate jewelry and gemstones, and a frequent lecturer at gemological and jewelry history events. She is a founding member of the Women’s Jewelry Association and president of the American Society of Jewelry Historians, in addition to her board and program chair positions for the organization. She also writes articles for jewelry publications including JCK and Rappaport.
