Join the London Chapter for their second Gems in Action series with jewelry designer Cora Sheibani as she will share her journey from how she decided to design jewelry to her distinctive aesthetic. Sheibani will talk about her inspirations and will offer some advice on how to manage it all. In her case: three children, a husband, two dogs, a snake and a goldfish.

Although she grew up surrounded by art and artists and appreciates multidisciplinary art and culture beyond contemporary, Cora does not refer to herself as an artist but as a jewelry designer. She launched her first collection in 2002 while pregnant with her first child and hasn’t stopped since. Her inspirations and ideas are always her own, and she will not take no for an answer, constantly pushing boundaries. Cora’s vision always comes with a twist. Her Color & Contradiction collection, for example, was presented at Miami Design in a coloring-in booth she created in which visitors were offered colored markers to create their own colored versions of her jewelry.

Born in Switzerland, Cora Sheibani received an Art History degree from New York University in 2001. In 2002, she moved to London to study at GIA and received a Graduate Gemologist Degree. Soon after, she launched her eponymous jewelry label at an exhibition in London’s Mayfair. Her pieces are almost exclusively made in Switzerland, France and Germany, by goldsmiths of the highest caliber. She primarily makes single jewels while occasionally putting together a whole collection.

Aside from showing her designs in private viewings by appointments, Cora has had jewelry exhibitions worldwide, including London, Zurich, Geneva, Basel, St-Moritz, Paris, Copenhagen, Miami, Milan and New York.
