Because of technical issues during the Oct 21 meeting, this topic has been rescheduled.

New date: Nov 12

Presenter: Elyse Zorn Karlin

By the late 19th century, and for a brief period in the early 20th century, courtesans had reached a level of social acceptance in many circles and settings, particularly in France. One of the great perks of being a courtesan to a powerful man was the magnificent jewelry that came along with the position.

Join the Washington D.C. Chapter for a webinar with Elyse Zorn Karlin who will tell the story of some of the most famous French courtesans and their jewels.

Elyse Zorn Karlin is the co-director of the Association for the Study of Jewelry & Related Arts (ASJRA) and the former president of the American Society of Jewelry Historians. Elyse is also an author and freelance curator.
